Patricia Ann Huffaker

Patricia Ann Delaune Huffaker passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026 with her daughters by her side, after living a long, purposeful and fulfilling life. Mrs. Huffaker was born on January 24, 1932 in Biloxi, Mississippi. She grew up in Franklin, Louisiana and graduated in 1950 as valedictorian of the school's first twelfth grade class. She lived in Lake Charles since 1963 and was a homemaker while her husband worked offshore as a supply boat captain.

Patricia was a Life Member of the Auxiliary (Pink Lady) of St. Patrick Hospital joining in 1974, retiring in 1995 after contributing many thousands hours of service. She served on its Board of Directors, was President for several terms and was Information Desk Chairman. She also enjoyed doing genealogy and traced her family back to the 1500s. She was a charter member of the Southwest Louisiana Genealogy Society and served as its President starting in 1983. Patricia was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states and parts of Canada. Mrs. Huffaker was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters Carol Huffaker Bruno and husband Terry and Judy Huffaker White and husband Mike of Lake Charles and daughter-in-law Lisa Huffaker D'Aquila of New Roads. Nine grandchildren, Nathan Bruno of Leander, TX; Emily Bruno Fruge and husband Jason of Moss Bluff; Glenn Bruno and fiancee Stephannie of Sulphur; Adrienne Bruno of Lake Charles; Dana White Sebren and husband Fred of Tomball, TX; David White and wife Zoe of Spring, TX; Marissa White Crochet of Lake Charles; Erin Huffaker Machina and husband Billy of Dallas, TX; Logan Huffaker and wife Macy of Wheat Ridge, CO. Fourteen great-grandchildren, Logan Bruno; Alyssa, Hayden, and Khloe Fruge; Francesca Bruno; Parker, Braxton, and Tyler Sebren; Beau and Riley White; Stella and Levi Crochet; Eloise and Lucy Machina. One great-great grandchild Kahlila Fruge.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Richard Earl Huffaker; her son, David B. Huffaker; her parents, Louis and Lollie Romero Delaune and her sister, Maxine Delaune Sablich.

Patricia wished to be cremated and interred next to her husband at the Southwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery in Jennings. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home and no funeral service will be held. Words of comfort to the family may be expressed at www.johnsonfuneralhome.net.
