Paul Brown "Peepaw" "Lowdown" Smedley, Sr.

Paul was born in Hodge, LA on September 8, 1942 to the late John Paul and Carolyn (Fullerton) Smedley and passed away in a local hospital on August 26, 2019 at the age of 76.

Paul worked as a truck driver at Pappillion Trucking. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses, working, watching western movies, playing video poker and being with his family.

He is survived by his children, Paul Brown Smedley, Jr. of Lake Charles, Rodney Scott Smedley (Crystal) of Perrin, Texas and Sheila DeAnne Hegwood of Lake Charles; sister, Emily Harrington Rankin of Winnfield; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and his cat Squirt. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jayola “Jaye” C. Smedley; brother, Charles Taylor Smedley.

Celebration of life will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
