Paula Ann Carlberg, a beloved resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana, who passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on December 14, 1943, and spent her life surrounded by family and friends in the close-knit community she called home, embracing every moment with grace and kindness.
Paula's journey began in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she attended LaGrange High School, leaving a legacy as a proud Gatorette. She furthered her education at McNeese State University, earning College Credits and setting a foundation for a successful career. Ultimately, she dedicated her professional life to the Health & Hospitals industry at St. Patrick Hospital, until her retirement in 2000.
Paula embraced the joys of life with unwavering passion. She found solace and strength in her faith, being a member of Carlyss Baptist Church and cherishing the moments spent in spiritual reflection and community.
Throughout her life, Paula found joy in the simple pleasures - sewing and embroidery were her expressive outlets, reflecting her creative spirit and attention to detail. Paula's love for exploration led her to embark on memorable trips to Belgium and Holland, expanding her horizons and creating lasting memories filled with wonder and adventure. Her heart was truly happiest when surrounded by loved ones, especially her children Melissa (Jody) Louviere, Kevin (Rebecca) Carlberg, and Allison (Alvin) Mott, along with her cherished grandchildren; Bethany, Logan, Jay, and EJ; and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Josephine; sisters, Dorothy Terrell & Emma Sargent; and extended family.
Family gatherings filled with laughter, love were often held with Tore Carlberg, although divorced, it was important to them that they surround their children with an abundance of love.
Paula was preceded in death by: her parents Paul and Alice Sargent; and one son, John Carlberg.
As per Paula's wishes, you are invited to celebrate her life on Thursday, Sept 26, 2024 in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home beginning at 1pm, led by Chaplain Don Duplechian. Visitation will be held Thursday, beginning 10am til time of service.
Though she may have left this world, Paula's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were privileged to know and love her, a beacon of love and resilience that will continue to guide and inspire for generations to come.
