It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pauline Manuel Taylor, who left us on November 20, 2025, at the age of 80. Pauline was a beloved mother, sister, maw-maw, aunt, and friend, deeply cherished by all who knew her.
Pauline was born on September 10, 1945, in Eunice, LA, to Raphael and Russella Manuel. She grew up in Johnson Bayou, LA, before moving to Lake Charles, LA, where she dedicated herself to raising her children. Pauline spent over 25 years as a secretary at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic School, where she brightened the lives of staff and students alike with her unwavering dedication and warmth.
A woman of many passions, Pauline enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking delicious family dinners, gardening, camping, and traveling. She was known for her exceptional ability to make others feel special and was a great caretaker to everyone who knew her. Pauline’s gentle spirit and nurturing nature made her a pillar of strength and a source of unwavering love and support to her family and friends.
Pauline is survived by her brother Gary Manuel and his wife Shelley of Alexandria, LA; her three daughters, Kimberly Kay LaRocca (Brian), Kelli Ella Richard, and Kristi Richard Gwinn (Tim); thirteen grandchildren, Grant LaRocca, Kaley Caldwell, Bryce LaRocca, Jake LaRocca, Chase Gautreaux, Kamdin George, Austin Hurt, Kallen Hurt, Zachary Gwinn, Haley Gwinn, Sydney Gwinn, Collin Richard, and Blake Richard; two nephews, Chad Manuel, and Jay Manuel; and her great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Raphael and Russella Manuel; her sons, Jamie Richard and Jared Richard; and her husband, Dean Taylor.
Pauline’s funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2025 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, 4321 Lake St., with Msgr. Daniel Torres serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service, with a rosary being recited at 10:30 AM.
