Percy Adam Thibodeaux, 78, of Moss Bluff passed away at 1:42 AM on Monday, June 26, 2017 in a local hospital surrounded by his devoted wife and daughter.
Mr. Thibodeaux was born on October 29, 1938 in Creole, LA and lived in Moss Bluff since 1976. After receiving an education from South Cameron High School he enlisted in the US Air Force from 1956 to 1976, retiring as a Technical Sergeant at Little Rock Air Force Base. After proudly serving our country and receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal, he worked for Dresser Atlas/Western Atlas/Baker Atlas as a lab technician. He was a member of the American Legion Post #176 in Creole and was Past Commander of VFW Post #9933 in Moss Bluff.
The military brought he and his family to live in many locations during his enlistment, including Arkansas where he belonged to an antique car club and also to Germany where he collected antique clocks. Later in life he played the guitar in the band “Cajun Friends” for several local nursing homes and also for entertainment at Louisiana Day at Holy Family Catholic School. Mr. Thibodeaux will be remembered for his extensive research in genealogy and his vast knowledge he would share with others regarding their family history.
Those left to cherish his memory are a loving wife of more than 47 years, Virginia Morales Thibodeaux of Moss Bluff; a daughter, Caprice Bush (Grant) of Moss Bluff; a granddaughter, Jordyn Kaci Bush; four half brothers, Curtis Thibodeaux of Welsh, Daniel Thibodeaux (Tammy) of Lake Charles, Ricky Thibodeaux (Cindy) of Grand Lake, and Ron Thibodeaux (Pam) of Kinder; and a half sister, Arlene Nivers (Dennis) of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Thibodeaux; mother, Eunice Eve Medrano; step father, John Medrano; and a half brother, Gary Medrano.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM followed by the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
Pallbearers who will be serving: Grant Bush, Van Seneca, Brent Morales, and Danny, Ricky, and Ron Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers: Waldon Doxey, Jerry Savoie, Curtis Thibodeaux, and Ruben and George Morales.
