“I am kind, I am beautiful, I am smart, I am loved”
Peyton Kinsley LaGrange, 12, of Lake Charles passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Peyton was born in Lake Charles on December 3, 2013. She attended Dolby and Henry Heights Elementary and was currently a student at F. K. White Middle School where she explored her passion for percussion, finding joy in music and the opportunity to develop her talents. Her creativity extended well beyond the music room, as she enjoyed drawing and creating, with a special interest in anime and art. Through her participation in the Anime Club, she especially enjoyed using her imagination to design costumes and bring her ideas to life, often transforming ordinary items found around the house into something uniquely her own. She also enjoyed music, listening to a variety of genres, with an '80s comeback mix among her latest favorites.
Peyton had a kind and loving heart, with a genuine concern for others. This was especially evident in the love she shared with her two little sisters, reminding them every day that they were “kind, beautiful, smart and loved.”
She had a special way of making others feel seen, heard, and important, always going out of her way to show others they mattered. Her contagious smile and playful, goofy nature brought joy to those around her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Linsey LaGrange Leishman and step-father Tyler; father, Garrett Lane Whittington; two sisters, Ava Gwen Leishman and Ivy Lorraine Leishman; grandfathers, Gerald Allen LaGrange, Kenneth Whittington and Alan Leishman; great-grandmother, Peggy Leishman; aunts and uncles, Jodie and Nicholas Noel and their children, Harrison Noel, Creed Noel and Lorelai Noel; Sarah E. Simon, Bryan Whittington (Sara) and Hallie Whittington; dearest family friend, Laura Stewart and closest friends, Eydee Lemoine and Prudence Thibodeaux.
She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Lorretta Ann Ayers and Peggy Whittington and great grandmother, Gwendolyn LaGrange.
“A Celebration of her Life will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Prien Lake Park pavilion.
