Phil Myers, 54, of Lake Charles, was called to his Heavenly Home on Thursday July 13, 2017 in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
Phil was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and McNeese State University.
Phil was preceded in death by his father, James Myers and brother, Mike Myers. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 28 years, Leisa Myers, Lake Charles, four daughters, Rebecca Kay Buquet (Brandon), Moss Bluff; Elizabeth “Lizzie” Felter (Alex), Alexandria; Stephanie Renee Partridge (Cody), Rosepine; and Madeline “Maddie” Myers, Lake Charles; grandchildren, Zachary Buquet, Emily Kay Reed, Gavin Buquet, Heidi Felter, Ryker Partridge and Ryatt Partridge; mother, Myra Posey Myers, Lake Charles; siblings, Sharon Watkins, Plano, TX; Tim Myers (Candice), Sulphur, Nancy Johnson (Ron), Lake Charles, Eddie Myers (Jo Ann), Lake Charles, Brenda Myers, Moss Bluff; sister-in-law, Patsy Myers, Florien; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Phil worked as a contractor and considered everything he crafted to be a legacy that would live on far beyond his own life. As a humble follower of Christ, he impacted each person he came into contact with. Phil was a servant at Sale Street Baptist Church. He played an integral role in the pre-school, children, youth, and adult departments. He acted in various leadership positions such as Sunday School Director, served on many committees, and taught Sunday School. He dedicated much time to mission work both in his hometown and beyond. He was a trusted Mr. Fix-it and a constant source of knowledge and guidance for family and friends. He lived every day to the fullest so the memory of his love for the Lord, adventure, comedic spirit, and workmanship will be remembered.
Visitation will be at Sale Street Baptist Church from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday July 17, 2017. Visitation continues from 9:00 AM until the time of service, 10:00 AM on Tuesday July 18, 2017 at Sale Street Baptist Church. The Reverends Randy Edwards, Kent Shepherd, and Tim Robles will officiate. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Gardens, all under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
In lieu of floral tributes, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Reap the Harvest, c/o Sale Street Baptist Church, 1611 W. Sale Rd., Lake Charles, LA 70605.
