Quentin Clement Trahan, 56, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Quentin was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, a graduate of Barbe High School and McNeese State University. He was a process plant lead operator at Westlake Chemical for twenty-five years. Quentin loved being with his family and friends. He was the life of the party and the last one to leave. He enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard and planting trees for wetlands conservation efforts. He was a jack-of-all-trades and used his many skills to help others. Quentin was a twenty year cancer survivor. His participation in a stem-cell transplant clinical trial contributed to the advancement of cancer treatment.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of thirty-six years, Susan Schopen Trahan; his daughters, Alexandra R. Trahan and Victoria Trahan Avery and husband, Mark Avery, Jr.; grandson, Paxton Avery; mother, Gloria Trahan; siblings, Chris Trahan (Patsy), Marcia Plauché (Richie), Vanessa Bailes (John), and “Mimi” Trahan Culpepper; and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Quentin Jared Trahan.
His memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service, with a rosary at 12:00 PM.
