Rachel Marie Trahan was called to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, February 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Rachel was a beloved mother, wife, aunt, daughter, sister, friend, and dental hygienist. She held many titles, and she was truly amazing at everything she put her mind to. She was a graduate of Lamar University in Orange, Texas, where she earned her degree in Dental Hygiene. Rachel was deeply loved by her patients and she touched the lives of so many through her work. She truly cared for people and made everyone feel seen, valued, and comfortable.
She was a devoted wife to her husband, Justin, and a loving mother who fought bravely for her children throughout her long and difficult battle with breast cancer, which she faced with courage and grace since December 2023. Her love for her children did not end here, it continues in heaven, where we know she will keep watch over them. One of Rachel's wishes was for her daughter, Austyn, to be enrolled in gymnastics, and her family intends to honor that wish.
Rachel was a woman of incredible strength and unwavering faith. Throughout her journey, she kept her eyes fixed on Jesus and never wavered in her trust in Him. Her faith, love, determination, and perseverance were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Rachel also had a deep love for animals. She adopted several pets from the pound and gave them lives full of love, just as she did for everyone around her. Rachel will be laid to rest alongside the ashes of her beloved dog, Bailey Jo, a cherished companion who brought her comfort and unconditional love.
She is survived by her loving husband, Justin Trahan; her children, Cayson and Austyn Trahan; her mother, Ruth Wright; her father, Gary Wright; her sisters, Jeannine Clark and Kristin Dronet; and many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2026 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Lake Charles. Pastor Josh Bigwood will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
In honor of Rachel's life and the beauty she carried, the family invites those who wish to do so to honor her with her favorite flowers, lilies.
