Ralph Lyndall Stewart, 68, of Lake Charles, departed this life at 5:00 AM, Sunday, August 01, 2010 in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Stewart was born in Simpson, LA, lived his younger years in Westlake and lived most of his adult life in Lake Charles, where he chose to raise his family. He served the Boilermakers Local #79 as a Business Agent for nearly a decade before retiring. Mr. Stewart was an avid car enthusiast with a love of the "classics". His sweetest moments were those he spent with his grandchildren, who so loved their "Papa".
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of forty nine years, Janice Keel Stewart of Lake Charles; one son, Ralph Randall Stewart and wife Gracie of DeQuincy; three daughters, Susan Stewart Bopp and husband Michael Edward of Covington, LA, Amanda Stewart Thies and husband Ben of Alvin, TX and Jennifer Bennett and husband Jared of Ball, LA; nine grandchildren, Amber Ransonet and husband Lynn, Gabrielle and Jacob Bopp, Randi Grace Stewart and Cassidy, Morgan Daisy, Emma and Luke Thies and Jordan Bennett and one sister, Betty Gayle Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Edna Stewart; one brother, Norwood Stewart and one sister, Judy Kelly.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Melvin Finley will officiate. Interment will follow in Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
