Mike Smith

April 25, 1952 — May 21, 2025

But our commonwealth is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power which enables him even to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3:20-21

Michael "Mike" Smith has been called peacefully home to God to celebrate life on the 21st of May, 2025 in Lake Charles, LA. Mike was born April 25,1952 in Lake Charles to Lillie Mae "Lil" and Ralph Smith. The third oldest of seven, and first-born boy in the group.

Mike was a graduate of Lagrange High School, and shortly thereafter began his career. Mike was an avid salesman and was well respected in the Oil and Gas Industry. Working over 40 years with large companies, such as Weatherford and Key Energy.

Mike was compassionate about people and the youth. He volunteered his time at the Louisiana Lions Camp for disabled children many summers as a young man. His love for the land or anything to do with the outdoors brought him back to nature. This is where he found peace. This ranged from hunting, fishing, to simple yard work.

Mike's memory will forever remain in the heart of his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Michelle Fuselier Smith, his only son, Cody Michael Smith, his father-in-Law, Maxwell Fuselier, his mother-in-law, Marella Alleman Fuselier, his brothers and sisters, Gary Smith, Scott and Beverly Smith, Mark and Deanne Smith, Ralph and Brenda Smith Cupper, William "Bill" and Linda Smith Moreaux, and Larry and Lisa Smith Mcnabb.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Mae Godeaux Smith, his grandparents, Alex and Ollie Godeaux, and his favorite dogs, Bell and Diamond.

Inurnment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until the start of the service at 2:30 PM.

The family would like to give special thanks to Monsignor Danny Torres and the Harbor Hospice Health Staff for all their prayers, time, and support.
