Ray Allen Hoffpauir

Hayes – Ray Allen Hoffpauir, born October 21, 1948, passed away in the SW LA Veterans Home in Jennings, on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of seventy-five.

Ray was a graduate of Lake Arthur High School and was a member of St. John Vianney in Bell City. He faithfully served in the U. S. Marines.

Ray began his working career rough necking in the oil field for 20 years, then worked in sales and was a self-employed iron worker. He enjoyed playing booray cards, gardening, cooking and taking care of his kids and grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marie Gaspard Hoffpauir; wife of 48 years, Linda Hoffpauir, and grandson, Wyatt Myers.

Ray is survived by his children, Paige Myers (Tony), Heather H. Hebert (Spencer) Shannon Hoffpauir (Kristi); Robert Chaisson; brother, Albert Lane Hoffpauir (Renell); sisters, Joe Ann Abshire (Will), Brenda Arceneaux (Billy), June Zaunbrecher (Damian), and Altha Foreman (Glyn); grandchildren, Linzy Broussard; Bryce Myers; Tayler Myers, Conner Myers; Harlie Hebert; Sterling Hebert; Haidyn Breshears; Johb Hoffpauir; Bradley Chaisson and Blake Chaisson; great-grandchildren, Layne; Casen; Reese Broussard; Lucas, Adley, Paisyn Myers; Tucker Wilkinson, and Sawyer Reber.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 9 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Rev. Roland Vaughn, Celebrant. Burial to follow in Hayes Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Tuesday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. and will resume Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 9 a.m. Pallbearers assisting in his service are Bryce Myers, Sterling Hebert, Conner Myers, Damian Zaunbrecher, Doyle Hoffpauir, David Foreman, and Haidyn Breshears.
