Raymond Pousson

Raymond Pousson, 70, of Iowa, LA died at 8:46 PM Friday, January 25, 2019 in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his family and friends.

Mr. Pousson was a native of Mamou, LA and has lived most of his life in Iowa. He was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School. He worked his younger years as a truck driver for Southern Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed barbequing for family and friends, camping and watching football and boxing. He also loved to have a good time from “Elvis Pousson from Duson”, his granddaughters dance partner and sports fan, his grandsons karate partner to just cutting up for fun. Mr. Pousson will be most remembered for his support and prayer for his family. He was their “rock”, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and a loyal friend.

Mr. Pousson leaves to honor his memory his wife of fifty years, LaDonna Saloom Pousson of Iowa; one daughter, Angela Tess “Angel” Pousson of Iowa; two sons, Todd Pousson of Iowa and Toby Pousson and wife Shannon of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Kylie Elizabeth Pousson, Addison Bree McCarty, Ty Braden Pousson and Ainsley Claire McCarty; one brother, James Joseph “Jimbo” Pousson and wife Barbara “Bo” of Lake Charles and extended family, Heather and Mark McCarty and Debbie and Larry “Boo” Maldonado and caregiver, Leona Duhon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Verna Mae Vidrine Pousson; three brothers, Allen Pousson, Jr., Johnny Pousson and Darrel Pousson; one sister, Sadie Pousson LeJeune and father and mother in law, Sam and Vicy Saloom.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Trey Ange will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Monday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:30 PM. Visitation Tuesday will be from 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM in the funeral home.
