Reba Lynette Johnson

March 10, 1966 — April 5, 2024

Reba Lynette Johnson passed away suddenly from natural causes on April 5th in her home in Sevierville, TN.

Lynette was a Lake Charles native and graduated from St. Louis Catholic High School in 1984. She loved playing sports and was a fiercely competitive and talented athlete, playing basketball and softball at the high school and collegiate level. Known for her big voice and even bigger personality, she was never at a loss for a song or funny story, and spending time with her was always an adventure. Despite her hardships, she persevered and continued sharing her story, inspiring others with her indomitable spirit. After losing her first leg, she competed and won a bronze medal in the Paralympics. She wrote hundreds of Christian songs, and even authored and published a book, “The Girl with the Zebra Leg,” to share her message of hope.

Lynette leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her mother, Reba Johnson, brother, James (Megan) Johnson, sister/BFF Lindsay (Jimmie) Murphy, nephew, Declan Johnson, niece, Zoey Johnson, aunt, Nancy (Ronnie) Kelly, cousins Ryan (Lia) Miller and Matthew Miller, special friends all over the country, and her faithful service dog, Deja. She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Don Johnson, grandparents Murphy and Bess Johnson and T.J.and Estelle Miller, and niece Gracie Johnson.
