Reggie Lovett, Sr.

April 22, 1961 — December 24, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Reggie Ray Lovett Sr., beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Reggie was born on April 22, 1961, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and he peacefully departed this life on December 24, 2025, at the age of 64, surrounded by family and friends.

Reggie dedicated over 33 years of his life to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, serving as the senior heavy equipment operator. His skills as a jack and master of all trades made him a cherished asset in the construction industry and his family, where he could operate any equipment given to him with unmatched expertise. After retiring, he took his passion and turned it into his own business, "Lovett's Dirt Work," where he continued to showcase his unwavering commitment to hard work and dedication.

In his spare time, Reggie enjoyed spending quality moments with family and friends. He had a passion for rebuilding small and large engines and could fix any machine thrown his way. He also enjoyed fast cars which led him to dirt track racing, where he was known as "Lead Foot Lovett". His generous spirit and selfless nature stood out in the community, as he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Reggie was not just a man of labor; he was a family man at heart. He cherished his wife, Donna Lovett, with whom he celebrated 47 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they raised a loving family that includes daughters, Laura (Brandy) Lovett and Desiree (Michael) Rollins; their sons, Darrel (Jamie) Saucier, Reggie "Ray Ray" (Katie) Lovett, Jr., and Chandler (Kaitlyn) Lovett; grandchildren, Aidan, Brock, Connor, Scarlett, Ian, Rayd'n, Ily, Triston, and Kordelia; his sweet grand pups, Abu, Marley and Loki; He also leaves behind his dear sister, Brenda (Kennedy) Taylor; neices and nephews, Kelly, Kourtney, Kaylee, Kimberly, Khloee, Ken Ken, Kaleb, Kidron, Kadesh, Keenan, KB, Kammen and numerous other nieces and nephews; his brother in Christ, Jim Perkins; and many extended family and friends that will forever cherish their memories of him.

Reggie's legacy of love and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to shine through the love he shared with his family and friends.

A public viewing will take place on Saturday December 27, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa, and continue until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Sunday December 28, 2025, at 9:00 AM, also at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa, until the time of service at 12:00 PM.
