It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rhoda “Ann” (Langley) Cooke, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, who entered eternal peace on October 13, 2026, surrounded by love.
Ann was born in Commerce, Texas, the only child of Mary Katherine (Hoover) Langley and Daniel Conway Langley. She graduated from Robstown High School with the Class of 1962.
Ann spent many years in Lake Charles, Louisiana, a place she proudly called home. During her career, she worked as a dental assistant and office manager for Dr. Kenneth Wimberly, D.D.S., and Dr. Michael Simms, D.D.S. In 2021, she moved to Conroe, Texas, and later, in 2024, to Plantersville, Texas, where she lived with her daughter, son-in-law, and beloved grand-dog, Rylee.
A member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, Ann was a woman of strong faith, which guided her life and reflected her deep devotion to family. She enjoyed reading on her Kindle and treasured time spent with those she loved. Known for her quick wit and wonderfully sarcastic sense of humor, Ann had a way of bringing laughter to those around her. Beneath that humor was a steadfast love and devotion to her family.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Sheri (Anderson) Breaux and husband Tim of Plantersville, Texas; her son, Steven Anderson and wife Sandy of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her grandchildren, Cody Breaux, Austin Breaux and wife Morgan, Nathan Anderson and wife Shelly, Madison Anderson, and Ava Anderson; and her great-granddaughters, Beau and Bobbie Breaux.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Katherine (Hoover) Langley and Daniel Conway Langley; and her former husband, Thomas Douglas Cooke.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Memorial Hermann Hospital The Woodlands for the exceptional care they provided Ann, as well as the kindness, compassion, and hospitality extended to her family during her final days.
Ann will be deeply missed by her family and many friends, who will forever remember her laughter, sharp wit, and the quiet strength of her faith.
Ann will be laid to rest at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Services will be private for immediate family.
