Richard Carroll LaFleur, age 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, after a long hard fought battle with an illness.
He was born on December 8, 1941 to Kelly and Evanna Savant LaFleur. He attended Kinder High School before moving to Moss Bluff in 1973. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum plant after 33 years of dedicated service. He was a longtime board member and trustee for his friend and Pastor, Murrell Ewing at Eastwood Pentecostal Church and continued with Bro. Aaron Lopez after Bro. Ewing’s passing.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 56 years, Sherrill LaFleur; son, Brian LaFleur and wife Heather of Ragley, LA; daughters, Lynette LaFleur Phillips of Moss Bluff, LA and Sandra Queen and husband Jay of Baytown, TX; sister, Rose Bertrand and husband Larry of Elton, LA; brother, Roland LaFleur and wife Wilda of Del Rio, TX; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Eastwood Pentecostal Church. Pastor Aaron Lopez will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Green Oak Cemetery in Kinder, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 5 PM until 8 PM and will resume on Sunday at 9 AM until the start of the service.
