Richard “Rick” Keith Pousson, born in Kinder on August 6, 1953, son of the late Alvin Joseph and Carolyn (Gidlow) Pousson, Sr., passed away Monday, August 7, 2023, surrounded by his family, at the age of 70.
A graduate of Kinder High School, Rick worked as a corrections officer for Phelps Correctional Center in DeQuincy for 20 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed tending to his horses and working cows with his friends. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell Pousson, and Alvin Joseph Pousson, Jr., nephew, Chad Pousson.
Rick is survived by his wife of 40 years, Renee Prudhomme Pousson; son, Bradley Pousson and wife, Sabrina, and their son on the way, Ezra Pousson; siblings, Ann Ardoin, Sue Boudreaux, and Randy Pousson and wife, Louise; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Pousson, and Cindy Pousson; numerous nieces, and nephews, as well as many great nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa, Friday, August 11, 2023 at 10 a.m. Rev. Jom Joseph, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation begins Thursday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Following the rosary, Pastor Rocky East will have a Celebration of Life. Visitation resumes Friday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Honored to serve as pallbearers are his nephews. Honorary pallbearers are his godchildren, Todd Bourgeois, and Ashley Gould.
