Richard “Dickie” Thomas LeBlanc, born in Lacassine on October 27, 1939, son of Andrew and Ada Hardy LeBlanc, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the age of eighty-three.
A graduate of Lacassine High, Dickie served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a self-employed farmer and had his own demolition service. He enjoyed raising and racing quarter horses and watching football.
He was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lacassine.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Chester LeBlanc, and Marie Eloise LeBlanc; grandchildren, Cody and Hannah Ardoin.
Dickie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Nell Hebert LeBlanc; children, Jeffery LeBlanc (Deena), Robin Ardoin (Billy), and Holly Barrow (Kinney); brother, Warren “Jimmy” LeBlanc, Sr. (Genevieve); sister-in-law, Yvette LeBlanc; grandchildren, Brittany Gantt (Brooks), Joey Barrow, Jake Barrow (Olivia), Gabe Barrow (Katlin), Wyatt Ardoin (Alexis); great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Gantt, Brielle Gantt, Brock Barrow, Rozen Barrow, Rowan Barrow, Ellie Mae Ardoin, and Avie Rose Barrow.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lacassine on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Friday in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Pallbearers assisting in his service are his grandsons, Joey Barrow, Jake Barrow, Gabe Barrow, Wyatt Ardoin; grandson-in-law, Brooks Gantt, and his godchild, Warren LeBlanc, Jr.
