Ricky “Cowboy” Toney, 54, of Lake Charles passed away at 3:53 PM on Monday, January 9, 2017 in a local hospital.
Mr. Toney was born on November 8, 1962 in Lake Charles where he lived all of his life and attended Christ the King Catholic Church. He was a machinist and worked for Ohmstede, Brask, and currently for Gulf Machine Shop.
He could often be found fishing with his dog by his side. He enjoyed gardening and was a Cajun who knew how to cook and loved feeding others. Mr. Toney never met a stranger and will be missed dearly. Spending time with his family was a very important part of his life.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marie Toney of Lake Charles; son, Justin Toney of Lake Charles; daughter, Felicite Toney (David Carroll) of Juneau, Alaska; father, Charles Toney, Sr. of Lake Charles; three siblings, Ronald Toney (Michelle) of Ragley, Theresa Toney Fontenot of Moss Bluff, and Charles Toney, Jr. (Michelle) of Lake Charles; his furry friend, Ricky Junior “Ret”; and a grand dog, Jack.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Spell Toney and a sister, Shelia Toney.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 13, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ken Sifford will officiate. Burial will be held in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to them for unpaid and final expenses.
