Ricky Lamonte Cox, 61, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 20, 1964, to Arthur Lee Cox Jr. and Dorothy Smith Cox.

Ricky was a devoted homemaker who cherished every moment spent with his three children. He was an incredible cook and loved watching old westerns. He enjoyed being out in nature, especially fishing. He also had a lifelong passion for music, particularly playing his guitar and drums.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 24 years, Cynthia Gail Trahan Cox; his children, Haley Cox, Brady Cox, and Harmony Dubose; his siblings, Nancy Carlin, Tommy Cox, Malcom Cox, Don Cox, and Anthony Cox; and his beloved fur babies, Onyx and Sapphire. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Arthur Cox, Jimmy Cox, Robert Cox, and Mary Nell Cox.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Tom Herbert Rd. Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
