Ricky E. Burgess

Richard Earl Burgess passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in Longville, Louisiana.

Ricky was born on December 31, 1963, in Lake Charles, LA to Buster and Wanda Burgess. Richard loved hunting, camping, riding ATV’s and shooting. He worked offshore for over 20 years before moving to the petrochemical industry where he currently worked at Lyondell Basell.

He enjoyed having a good time sitting by the campfire with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 41 years, Katy Burgess; son, Chase and wife Kristen Burgess of Moss Bluff; grandchildren, Wes, Gunnar and Fynli Burgess of Moss Bluff, and Hannah Harmes of Longville; brother, John and wife Tammy Anderson of Moss Bluff; sisters, Tammy and husband Gary Thompson of Ragley and Elly Benoit of Sulphur and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivory “Buster” Burgess, Wanda and John Anderson, Jr.; son, Specialist Cory W. Burgess and a cousin, Sergeant William “Billy” Bushnell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00am in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff with Rev. Kennis Smith and Shane Manuel will be officiating.  A burial will follow the service at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and will resume on Saturday at 9:00am until service time at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
