Ricky Dean Fox

Ricky Dean Fox, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, went home to be with the Lord on September 28, 2025, surrounded by family, at the age of 72. He was born in Kaufman, Texas and met his wife in Okinawa, Japan while serving in the United States Marine Corps. He spent his life dedicated to public service and his family. He took great pride in law enforcement, but he took the greatest pride in his dedication to his family. He will be remembered not only for his service, but for the countless lives he touched along the way.

Ricky served his country as a United States Marine, the city of Orange, Texas as a police officer, the state of Louisiana as a State Trooper, and later as the Chief of Police of Vinton, Louisiana, where he raised his family. He had a combined total of almost 50 years of public service.

Outside of his professional life, Ricky had a passion for duck hunting, fishing, and golf. He enjoyed many years sharing a duck blind with his children, grandsons and friends. He didn’t even have to shoot his gun; sitting in a blind calling ducks brought him joy and peace. He also enjoyed being the voice of the Vinton Lions, where he announced the high school football games for over 20 years.

Ricky leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Keiko Fox, son, Ben Fox (Holly), daughter, Lindsay Trosclair (John) and his 7 grandchildren Eli, Ethan, Noah, Bryce, Ben, Jolie and Emma. He is also survived by his siblings William Fox, Rita Fox, and Rue Fox.

Funeral services for Ricky will be held at the Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Friends and family are invited to a time of visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2025, also at Johnson Funeral Home and again on Friday from 9:00 AM to the time of service. After the service, he will be laid to rest at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA.
