Ricky Joseph Trahan, 56, of Iowa, Louisiana, ran into the arms of Jesus on Friday, May 15, 2026. He was born on November 10, 1969, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Mary and Dorris "Snooky" Trahan.
Known affectionately by many names: Hot Tamale, Hunk of Burnin' Love, DAD, Bubba, Paw Paw, Rare Ricky, Ricky Bobby, Juan, and Stinky Pete. Ricky embodied a spirit of joy and warmth. He was a rare soul, one who lit up every room he entered with his bright smile and infectious laughter. Those blessed to know him will remember his selflessness and the way he placed others before himself, always greeting challenges with a gentle smile and the reassuring words, "It's okay." Ricky had a unique ability to touch the hearts of everyone he met, and he was simply everything to those who loved him. Ricky was a loyal hardworking employee of Firestone Polymers for the past sixteen years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 35½ years, Amanda Sittig Trahan; his loving mother, Mary Trahan; his sister, Sandy McClane (Brian); his Godson, Blaine Taylor, and his cherished children, Garrett Trahan (Lexie) and Grace Park (Wansu). He was a proud and loving grandfather to his beautiful grandchildren: Torin, Lucas, Amelia, Grayson, Nara, and Asher. Ricky will also be deeply missed by his brother-in-law, Greg Sittig (Julie); his sister-in-law, Rachel Sittig; his brother-in-law, Randy Sittig (Leslie); and a host of nieces and nephews who adored him.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Dorris "Snooky" Trahan; his beloved grandparents, Bertha and Odelias Lawson, Goldie Robinson Breaux, Dalton Trahan, Elias Breaux; his mother and father-in-law, Katheryn and Ernest Sittig; and his nephew, Cory James Sittig.
The family will be holding a Rosary at Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 6:00 PM, Visitation will begin from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Henry Catholic Church on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Trey Ange and Rev. Levi Thompson. Ricky will be laid to rest following the service in Pine Hill Cemetery.
