Rita Davis

Rita Davis, 86, of Westlake died at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Davis was a native of Church Point, LA and a long time resident of Westlake. She enjoyed working in her yard and cooking for family and friends. She worked as an aide at Resthaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center from 1967-1975. Mrs. Davis was a beloved member of Westlake Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include one sister, Laura Mathis of Shreveport; children, Margie Binion and husband Sam, Bea Rogers and husband Donald, Lolly Comeaux, and Elaine Lambert and husband Dean; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Marie Doucet; daughters, Gertrude Comeaux and Barbara Fruge; and five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Anthony Pooser will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the services.
