Robert "Bob" Brown

Robert ”Bob” Brown, 84, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on November 11, 2018, Veterans Day, at a local hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Brown was born in Belleville, GA on November 1, 1934 to Arthur and Myrtle Walker Brown.

Bob grew up in Brunswick, GA and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a paratrooper and an electrician and was stationed in Mainz, Germany for a time. He served from 1957 – 1963 and was a member of the VFW in Sulphur.

After leaving the service, he worked in the financial industry for over 40 years as a manager for various financial companies.

Bob loved to fish, especially at Toledo Bend. His other love was the Georgia Bulldogs. He loved spending time with his family and he treasured his time with his grandchildren. Bob loved carpentry, nothing seemed beyond his ability to build.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Anne Reeves and his two grandchildren, Gillian Reeves and Alexander “Alex” Reeves of Lake Charles. He is also survived by his two brothers, Bennie (Fredi) Brown of Hot Springs, AR and Charles (Mary Jo) Brown of Cumming, GA.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 5-9PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 8-10AM on Thursday, November 15, 2018 with a funeral service beginning at 10AM officiated by Deacon Harold Nixon. Interment will follow at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA.
