Robert Glenn Poff, Sr.

Robert Glenn Poff, 81, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 in a local care center.

A native of Virginia, Robert's Naval Career was from 1948 1969 and he served in the Korean War as a medic retiring from Portsmouth Naval Hospital. After retirement, he served as a city inspector for Chesapeake, Virginia before moving to Lake Charles where he became manager of Orkin and has lived the last 40 years. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and Disabled Veterans of America. Robert was a member of South City Christian Church of Lake Charles.

He is survived by his wife Rose Poff; daughter Peggy Moots and husband John; 3 granddaughters and 8 great grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his two daughters, a son, a brother and a sister.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in Johnson Funeral Home. Pastor David Veillon will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9 am on Wednesday.
