Memory of Robert Lancelot Fisher Robert was born March 8, 1937 in Hertford, North Carolina. He spent his early years there fishing and swimming on the Perquimans River and spoke of this often. He graduated from Perquimans High School and then moved to Huntsville Alabama where he met his wife, Betty Sue Armstrong. He served as a medic in the Air Force in Iceland and in Biloxi Mississippi. Robert later drove a tanker truck for many years before retiring from Martin Trucking in 2004. While in Biloxi he and his wife began studying the bible with one of Jehovah's Witnesses. After an early discharge from the Air Force, Robert dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on August 13, 1965. He faithfully served Jehovah until his death on June 22, 2015. Robert was always quick to offer a bit of humor and a smile even when he was not feeling at his best and he always knew the names of all the little ones at the Kingdom Hall. Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty "Sue" Fisher of Sulphur; his daughter, Terry Rivera of AL; his two sons, Michael Fisher and wife Debi of Sulphur and Stephen Fisher and wife Laura of ND; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; 3 brothers, Frank, Herbert and Hudson; and 2 sisters, Mary Ann and Doris. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul R. Fisher and Mary Lou Fisher; and a brother, James Fisher. . A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 2 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 857 Sweeney Lane in Sulphur, LA. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
