Robert Lee Leubner

Sep 3, 1952 — Jun 25, 2026

Robert Leubner passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was a simple man who found his greatest joys in faith, family, and the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and looked forward to his hunting trips to Sonora, Texas. In his younger years, he also enjoyed squirrel hunting and often took part in the annual squirrel hunt in Starks. No matter where he was headed, he was rarely without his thermos full of coffee. He also had quite a sweet tooth, despite being diabetic.

On February 1, 1971, Robert married the love of his life, Frances Leubner. Together they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered around family and making memories together.

Robert spent 40 years as a truck driver. During the summer months, he often took his family along with him on the road. Those trips sparked a love for traveling that his family would cherish for years to come.

He also enjoyed cooking and was known for making some of his family's favorite meals. His cornbread dressing and bell pepper dressing were always requested and enjoyed by those gathered around his table.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Frances Leubner; his children, James Leubner and wife Lisa, and Tracey Willis and husband Jeremy; his grandchildren, Kaitlin Miller, Jolie Leubner, Michael Hamorski and wife Amber, and Taylor Davis and husband Dylan; his great-grandchildren, Forest, Camille, Aubree, and Theodore, with one more great-grandchild on the way; his brother, Carl Leubner and wife Carolyn; his sister-in-law, Cathy Leubner; along with many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, George Leubner; and his sister, Frankie Gwartney; and three cherished nephews.

A funeral service for Robert will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, with burial to follow at Crownpoint Cemetery.
