Robert Fitzpatrick Mixon, born on October 9, 1958, passed away in a local hospital on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the age of 62.
Robert worked as an oiler for many different industries. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and watching Westerns, especially anything with John Wayne.
Robert coached baseball for the Iowa Dixie Youth.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mickey Mixon; Judy Mixon, and June Mixon Embrose.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sandra Mixon; sons, Russell “R.C.” Mixon (Desira) of Lake Charles; Tim Massey (Helene) of Grand Lake; daughter, Tammy Comeaux (Brian) of Lake Charles; siblings, Russell Mixon (Kathy); John L. Mixon, and Theresa Shoemake (Bobby); 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 3:30 until 7 p.m. A Prayer service will begin at 6 p.m. with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating. Cremation will follow the gathering under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
