Robert Russell Vincent

June 22, 1944 — September 28, 2022

Robert Russell Vincent, born in Lake Charles on June 22, 1944, son of the late Russell Earl and Lucy Marie (Gaspard) Vincent, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at age 78.

Robert served honorably in the US Army. He was a member of the Local 406 as a heavy equipment operator for many years and also worked as a truck driver, driving his own dump truck. He loved music and played the drums with many local bands in and around Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana. He helped cut Dolly Parton’s first album “Puppy Love” and played music with Mickey Gilley and Jerry Lee Lewis as well as many others.

Robert loved to tell tall tales and stories of his life experiences. He could weave amazing tales that would convince even his granddaughters that his stories were true. They knew he was “pulling their leg” when he would crack a silly grin. He had such a mischievous sense of humor and loved to make his wife Judy smile. Robert never met a stranger and always made friends wherever he went. His favorite thing to talk about was his adventures and experiences when they lived in Canada. It would always get his family and friends laughing hearing some of the crazy things he’d been through. He loved Canada so much; he moved there twice.

He loved cutting his grass, being outdoors, and coloring in the coloring books his granddaughters would buy for him, but most of all; he loved being with his family and had a strong faith in God.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Judy Vincent Guidry, and Ricky Joseph Vincent.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Judy Marie Guidry Vincent; son, Robert Damon Vincent and wife, Monica Manuel Vincent; 3 grandchildren, Katelyn, Coryn, and Cloe Vincent.
