Robert Smith, Jr.

Robert Smith, Jr., 62, of Sulphur, LA died on Sunday, September 16, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mr. Smith was born October 1, 1949 in Sulphur, LA, where he lived all of his life. He was a graduate of Mossville High School and Southern University. He worked at Calcasieu Refining and was a lab supervisor at Louisiana Pigment. He was a past member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and enjoyed listening to music and playing pool in his spare time.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Sylvia Janet Prater Smith; son, Thaddeaus Smith and wife Jeanitra of Dallas, TX; daughter, Shavon Smith of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters, Shirley Ferguson of Sulphur, LA, Pauline Marie Eaglin of Maplewood, LA and Linda Hunter of Sulphur, LA; and four grandchildren, Donaven Smith, Aron Smith, Micah Smith, and Ilona Crittenden.

His graveside service will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery in Mossville, LA. Pastor Arthur Etienne will officiate. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
