Robert William Demeritt, 60, of Lake Charles died Thursday 25, 2010 in a local hospital.
He was born June 14, 1950 in Lake Charles was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, U.S. Navy Veteran, and worked many years as an aircraft mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jull Wilson Demeritt and a sister, Janie St. Andrew. Survivors include his mother, Lois Long Demeritt, Lake Charles; stepdaughter, Saundra Lewis, Kinder; step grandchildren, Kenneth James Pierce, Jr., Matthew Pierce and Melissa Pierce; Brothers, Glynn Demeritt, Lake Charles and Shelby Doucet and wife Bonnie of Lake Charles; sister TeeDee Hughes and husband Charles, of Youngsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday November 29, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Home with a funeral service being held at 1:00 PM in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Francis LaRocque and Vernon Chevallier officiating. Burial will follow in Hebert Cemetery, Hecker.
