Rodney Lopez, born in Kinder on August 24, 1948, son of the late Yeumen and Mabel (Duplantis) Lopez, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023, at the age of 74.
Rodney, a farmer, and heavy equipment operator, enjoyed making sausage, playing cards, and listening to French music. Most of all, spending time with his beloved grandson, Elliott was what he enjoyed most.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Lopez; wife, Brenda Lopez.
Rodney is survived by his daughter, Karen Lopez; siblings, LouElla Houston, Ellen Abshire (Wilson), Beulah Dupre, Judy Petry (Steven), and Ronald Lopez (Patricia); grandson, Elliott LaFleur; numerous nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services are Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Tuesday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m.
