Ronald Gerard Legnion, 58, of Lake Charles passed away at 5:32 PM on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in Lake Charles.

Mr. Legnion was born on November 6, 1962 in Crowley and was raised in Lake Charles where he was a graduate of Barbe High School.  He received his B.S. in Computer Science from McNeese State University.  Following graduation, he got a variety of experience with Boy Scouts of America as a Senior District Executive, Ryan’s Family Steakhouses, Inc. as a general manager, Isle of Capri Casino as a Restaurant Supervisor and becoming a Systems Analyst, Mallett Telephone, Inc. as a Regional Manager/Technician, National Networks as Lead Cable Technician, L ’Auberge Casino Resort as a Technical Support Analyst, and most recently at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino as a System Analyst becoming a Senior System Analyst.  In his younger years he was an Eagle Scout and in his later years he belonged to the Knights of Columbus and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.

In his spare time, he took pleasure in reading, baking, and listening to music on his phone. He was a dedicated fan of the New Orleans Saints. He also enjoyed playing Fantasy Football and loved watching all kinds of sports.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of more than 36 years, Jennifer Legnion of Lake Charles; children, Brandon Legnion of Moss Bluff and Sarah Legnion of Lake Charles; his parents, Donald and Rita Legnion of Lake Charles; and his siblings, Kevin Legnion (Kim) of Lake Charles, Traci Page (Dino) of Lake Charles, and Dana McCormick (Corey) of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eulise and Gladys Legnion and maternal grandparents, Alvoy and Lucille Kober.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.  The Rev. Levi Thompson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin on Tuesday at University Baptist Church from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until leaving for OLQH at 10:45 PM.  ***Please observe social distancing and wear a face mask***
