Ronald Wayne Watson 84, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026. Born on May 29,1941 in Carnegie, Oklahoma, Ronnie was the beloved son of Johnnie Elliott Watson and Clara Mae Watson (Craig).
Ronnie attended Alfalfa High School graduating in 1959. After high school, Ronnie served in the United States Air Force, specializing in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Maintenance.
Throughout his life, Ronnie was deeply committed to service and community. He served as a Boy Scout Leader, Volunteer First Responder and Fire Fighter in Moss Bluff, Louisiana. Ronnie also dedicated time as Band Booster President for Sam Houston High School, supporting the school's music program and students.
Professionally, Ronnie worked as an electrician for 34 years at Firestone Polymers, demonstrating expertise and dedication. He also served as Deputy Sheriff for Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, upholding the values of safety and justice.
Faith was central to Ronnie's life through serving as an usher and choir member at St. Theodore Catholic Church.
Ronald Wayne Watson is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Debra A. Watson of Lake Charles, La; his children, Kevin Wayne Watson (Mindy) of Dallas, Texas; Gregory Allen Watson of Amarillo Texas; Christopher Eric Watson (Darlene) of Ragley, La; Andrew Todd Watson (Karen Landry) of Luka, Mississippi; his 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings - Johnnie Mae Payne, Randal Leroy Watson, Charlie Ray Watson, Vela Mae Stewart, Calvin Carl Watson, Raymond Oliver Watson, Reba Oliver Simmons and his wife Mary Jeanette Doucet Watson.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff on Monday, March 2 from 5 - 8 pm with a rosary at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff, La on Tuesday, March 3 at 10am. Interment will be at the VA Cemetery in Jennings, LA.
