Ronney Jude Breaux

Ronney Jude Breaux, 86, of Lake Charles, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, Louisiana.

Mr. Breaux was born November 24, 1939, in Abbeville, Louisiana, to Mancy Joseph Breaux and Ethel Margaret Broussard Breaux. He attended McNeese State University, where he participated in the ROTC program. In 1962, during his final semester at McNeese, he married his sweetheart, Terry Jean Ott.

Following college, Ronney served his country as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. His military service took the young couple first to Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and later to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where they welcomed their first daughter. Following his military service, Ronney and Terry returned to Lake Charles, where they made their home near McNeese and welcomed their second daughter.

Ronney spent much of his career with Citgo, work that he truly enjoyed. Even after his time there, he remained active professionally, working as a project manager on major projects throughout the country until the age of 76. He took great pride in his work and valued the people and experiences that came with it.

His Catholic faith was an important part of Ronney's life. He served as an usher at numerous Catholic churches throughout Lake Charles and Sulphur and played a significant role in bringing the Latin Mass to Calcasieu Parish. His love of country was equally important to him. Each Memorial Day and Veterans Day, he took pride in helping place casket flags along the Avenue of Flags in honor of those who served.

Ronney and Terry shared fifty-eight years of marriage before her death in 2020. Together, they built a life centered around their family and watched it grow through several generations. Their home was often a gathering place, especially around the large meals Terry enjoyed preparing. Ronney and Terry also shared a love of watching the Houston Astros together. He loved his Catholic faith, his family, his work and his country, and each remained important to him throughout his life.

Ronney leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, Tess See (Scott) of Sulphur, and Kathy Kingsley of Duson; five grandchildren, Kelli Dugas (Byron), Jessica Crader (Randell), Jeff See (Jessika), Andrew Kingsley and Matt See (Elyssa); thirteen great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Jackie Trahan (Gerald), Danny Breaux and Rusty Breaux.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Terry Jean Ott Breaux; and his parents, Mancy Joseph Breaux and Ethel Margaret Broussard Breaux.

A Latin Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 21, 2026, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 935 Bilbo Street, with The Very Reverend Edward Richard, M.S., V.F. serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.

Visitation will be in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake Street, on Monday from 10:00 AM until leaving in procession to the church, with a rosary being recited at 1:00 PM.
