Lake Charles – Rose Gary Abshire, daughter of the late Nicholas and Cecil (Cormier) Gary, born in Rayne on February 7, 1936, passed away in Houston Methodist, March 11, 2019, at the age of 83.
Rose worked as a cook and enjoyed yardwork and gardening. She will be remembered as a strong, independent woman.
Rose is survived by her children, Michelle M. Abshire; Randy Abshire; grandchildren, Tory Abshire; Josh Abshire; Devin Abshire; Erin Weeks; Katie Niles; Stephanie Abshire; father of her children, David Abshire; brother, Dennis Gary. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Troy Abshire.
As per her request, cremation was entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Memorial services are Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 12:15 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Gathering of friends and family is Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
