Rose Mae Breaux, 76, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 in her Sulphur home.
A lifelong resident of the Abbeville/Kaplan area, she moved to Sulphur a year ago. Her first job was working in the cotton fields as a young girl; but she later found a career in home health allowing her to fulfil her passion of helping and caring for others. Family was especially important to Rose, she loved cooking Cajun food, and making others laugh. Rose enjoyed fishing, crabbing and different crafts.
Left to cherish her are her children, Carl Breaux and his wife, Sharri of Toledo Bend, Rosalind Frederick and her husband Ferris of Kaplan and Regina Romeo and her husband Erroll of Abbeville; eight siblings, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her two husband, Elix Breaux and Mike Smith; three siblings, her father, Ivy Benoit; mother, Thelma Carpenter; and her stepfather, John Carpenter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Farquhar Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 11 A.M. at the funeral home until time of the service.
