Rosemary "Rosie" Frost Derouen, 72, of Lake Charles, LA died at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in a local hospital. Mrs. Derouen was born December 17, 1942 in Akron, OH, graduated from Cathedral Girls High School and attended San Diego College for Women. She met and married the love of her life in San Diego then moved to Lake Charles where she lived most of her adult life. She was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven and Our Lady of Good Counsel. She was also a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society and enjoyed attending Bible study at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Carlyss. Mrs. Derouen worked at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for twenty-two years in the accounting department and also worked at the Calcasieu Parish Medical Society. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was an avid spectator of sports and was a fan of the Houston Astros, New Orleans Saints, and LSU teams. Mrs. Derouen is survived by her daughter, Cindy Courville and husband Jeff of Lake Charles, LA; son, Dennis Derouen and wife Michele of Alabama; sister, Anne Arnold of Windsor, CA; five grandchildren, Clint Benoit and wife Jackie, Billy Fontenot and fiancée Kelli Reed, Sarah Perry and husband Rick, Amber Derouen and Jacob Courville and wife Jessica; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Jason, Demi, Jolie, and Kayleigh; good friend, Linda Wranosky; and caregiver and good friend, Becky Trahan. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-five years, Darryl Derouen; parents, William and Geraldine Frost; sister, Pete Connolly; and brother-in-law, George Arnold. Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Fathers Alan Trouille and Nathan Long will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
