Roy Pierre Nunez, 91, of Sulphur passed away on May 18, 2016 in his resident surrounded by his family. He was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur where he ushered for 15 years. Roy belonged to the Knights of Columbus, was a Commander of VFW Post 8107, and made a Cursillo in 1972. Roy was a welder by trade and enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, and was a jack of all trades.
Roy is survived by his four daughters, Gloria Smith and husband Robert of Sulphur; Dinah Vidrine and companion Joel “LeLew” Kyle of Hackberry; Patricia Nunez of Sulphur; and Glenda Green and husband Terry of Shell Knob, Mo; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Faulk Nunez; his parents, Asa and Marie Trahan Nunez; his grandson, Timothy Smith; his sister, Velma Broussard; his half brother, Joe Nunez and his half sister, Emma Richard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11 A.M. at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Andrews Kollannoor, M.S. officiating. Burial will in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 11 A.M. till 8 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with a rosary at 6 P.M. followed by a Cursillo Rosary at 7 P.M. Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 8 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home until time of leaving for the church.Visits: 1
