Welsh – Roy Joseph Trahan, born August 24, 1927, son of the late Eugene and Elina (Mallett) Trahan, passed away September 17, 2018 at a local care center, at the age of 91.
Roy worked in farming and for Jeff Davis land fill. He enjoyed yard work and small engine repair. He was a member of the Assembly of God.
He is survived by his sons, Paul Joseph Trahan (Denise) of Thibodeaux, David Allen Trahan (Tracy) of Welsh, Robbie Dean Trahan (Teresa) of Jennings; daughters, Kathie Trahan Rodrigue (Gus) of Welsh and Nancy Trahan Mallett of Welsh; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Louise Fontenot Trahan; brother, Dupre “Bee” Trahan; sisters, Rose Mallett, Matilda Arceneaux and Marie Schexnayder.
Visitation is Friday in the funeral home from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and will resume Saturday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Funeral services are Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa with Rev. Gus Rodrigue officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery.
