Ruby Mae Manuel Peet, 81, of Magnolia, Texas, formerly of Lake Charles, passed away on Sunday June 8, 2025, at her home in Magnolia with her family at her side.
A native of Welsh, Ruby met and married the love of her life, Allan Theodore Peet, Sr., in Lake Charles. The newlywed couple embarked on an adventure of moving west and settled in the Pasadena, Texas area before moving to Magnolia after retirement. While both were from very large Cajun families, they raised their family in Texas, with frequent visits to the extended family in Louisiana.
Ruby worked for the Cypress Fairbanks School District for many years, having first worked as a bus driver and retired from Vending services. True to her roots, Ruby enjoyed her family and cooking and being with others, but not far from home. She was of the Catholic Faith.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Amos (Sr.) and Eliza Ardoin Manuel; brother, Charles Manuel and best friend and love of her life, Allan Theodore Peet, Sr. Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her children, Debra Diaz, Paula Leblonde, and Allan Peet (Tina); grandchildren, Stephanie Lackey (Chris Jackson), Heather Fretwell (Micheal), Chase Lackey, Tyler Leblonde, Haley LeBlonde, Trey Peet and Kayla Scott (Blake) and numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Helen Fontenot, Amos Manuel, Jr., Richard Manuel (Melinda); sister-in-law, Coma Manuel as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart.
Funeral services will be at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff at 1:00 PM on Saturday June 14, 2025, with Father Aubrie Guilbeau officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home and continue until the hour of the service. Burial will be alongside her beloved husband at Old Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Allan Peet Jr, Trey Peet, Danny Peet, Tyler Leblonde, Micheal Fretwell, and Chris Jackson. Honorary pallbearers are great grandsons, Grayson Perry and Griffin Perry
