Ruth Ann Matte

Ruth Ann Matte, 70, of Lake Charles passed away at 7:40 PM on Saturday, August 5, 2017 in her residence.

Mrs. Matte was born on August 12, 1946 in Lafayette, LA and lived all of her life in Lake Charles. Mrs. Matte was a caretaker all of her life, having looked after her siblings in her younger years, then as a housewife and mother, and later working in the infant room at Tiny Steps for 11 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Armena Gail Matte and Todd Matte (Feliza) all of Lake Charles; four siblings, Brian Benoit (Robin) of Fairview, OK, Bobby Benoit (Pat) of Auburn, CA, Daniel Benoit (Julie) of Easly, SC, and Mary Grace Pena of Lawton, OK; and five grandchildren, Tarésa Matte, Marquez Hasty, and Maison, Dakota, and Keegan Matte.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt “Bill” Matte; parents, Mable and Odea Benoit; a granddaughter, Maleah Hasty; and three siblings, Thomas and Wayne Benoit and Brenda Paul.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
