“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in. Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it well and serenely.”
Ruth Doucet, 79, passed away at home in Lake Charles, LA on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. She was born on September 10, 1944, in Jennings, Louisiana, to Lloyd and Hilda Istre Broussard.
She was a very prayerful person, a very faithful person. She served on the Alter Society at OLQH.
She loved/hated fishing and shrimping with her husband Kenneth at their camp in Big Lake. Most of her married life was spent in Iowa, LA. She was a great mom and a dedicated wife. She loved all of her family so much, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews were all very special to her. She had one very special niece… but we won’t say who!
She loved working in her flower beds, and when she was able, was outside working in the yard until after dark! She loved hummingbirds and cardinals and kept them well fed.
She also loved to listen to her music. So the next time you hear an Elvis song, think of her!
Those left to cherish her memory are, her children, Danna Hastings Doucet, and Teryon Doucet (Julie); granddaughters Jordan Hastings and Regan Hastings; great grandchildren Noah Williams, Stella and Cash Wimberly; sisters Martha Boudreaux (Leonard), Linda Rutledge (Daniel) and brother Donald Broussard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Doucet, son-in-law Blaine Doucet, sisters Elaine and Ilaine Broussard, brother Terry Broussard and sister-in-law, Judy Broussard.
