Ruth Bourgeois Johnson

Iowa – Ruth Bourgeois Johnson, born January 9, 1929, daughter of the late Dudley Adam and Lelia (Louviere) Bourgeois, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018, at the age of 89, surrounded by her family.
Ruth was a 1946 graduate of Iowa High School and attended trade school in Lake Charles. She was a member of the AARP and St. Raphael Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society. Ruth worked for the Calcasieu Parish Library for 18 years. She loved being with her family and friends & staying in touch with them on Facebook and her Coke Icee’s!
Ruth is survived by her children, Ronald Johnson (Jong Ko) of Lake Charles, Ricky Johnson (Lynn Hooks) of Woodville, Texas, Karen Johnson of Scott and Melanie Johnson Manuel (Boyd) of Lake Charles; siblings, Charles Bourgeois (Barbara), Kenneth Bourgeois (Bert); sisters-in-law, Christine Bourgeois, Yvonne Bourgeois and Jeanette Manuel; grandchildren, Lyn Johnson Hebert (Dan), Kari Johnson Cook (Russell), Kyle Manuel and Leann Manuel Hebert (Brannon); great-grandchildren, Aleks, Lexi, Alyssa, Traive, Camden, Kova, Klancie, Maeleigh and Landry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Amos Lee Johnson; daughter, Diane Johnson; parents; siblings, D. J. Bourgeois, Richard Bourgeois and Nola Jane Broussard.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Father Dismas Mauk officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 3 p.m. – 9.p.m., with a rosary at 6:30 p.m., and will resume Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
