Ryan Keith Hanks

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ryan Keith Hanks, who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

Ryan was a beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend. Born to Sonia Boudreaux and Kurt Hanks, and a cherished brother to Derek Hanks, Ryan’s life was a testament to faith, kindness, and quiet strength. He loved the Lord deeply and carried a genuine heart for people, always offering encouragement, a gentle spirit, and a helping hand to those around him.

Known for being both kind and quiet, Ryan touched lives in quiet but powerful ways. He found joy in skateboarding, often spending hours perfecting tricks and enjoying the freedom of the open air. He also had a passion for cooking, delighting family and friends with meals prepared with care and love.

Those who knew Ryan will remember his warm smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering faith. His impact on the lives he touched will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Ryan’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, purpose, and grace. He will be deeply missed, but we rejoice knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.

He is survived by his father, Kurt Hanks, mother Sonia Cormier Boudreaux, and brother Derek Hanks, stepbrothers Lucas and Joshua Broussard.

He is preceded in death by grandparents Martha Istre Hanks and John Tee Hanks, Flash Gordon Cormier and Nelda Lacombe Cormier, and Aunt Wanda Cormier Atkinson.

Funeral services for Ryan will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur, La.  Burial will follow at Andrus Cove Cemetery in Lake Arthur, La. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur.

Pallbearers: brother Derek Hanks, Jeremiah Jackson, Joshua Jackson, Stephen O’ Quinn, Zachary O’ Quinn, Randall Cormier, Joseph Cormier and Coco LaVergne.
