Ryan Mitchell Levingston

 

Ryan Mitchell Levingston, 45, of Lake Charles passed away in a local hospital.

 

Ryan was born, raised and has lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Barbe High School and attended Sowela Technical School, McNeese State University and Kennesaw State University. He worked many years in Finance for Mid Atlantic Financial and Louisiana Mortgage Associates. In 2013, along with his brothers, he opened and managed Lake Charles Vapor and in 2015 they expanded to open Lake Charles Vapor Westside in Sulphur. Ryan was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting. Also, an avid sports fan, (Chicago Fan) he loved LSU, the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks. He was a very talented, very humble artist with a gift of sketching, particularly the elderly. Ryan will be remembered for his kind, gentle and generous spirit, sense of humor and quick wit and for lifting up and taking care of others.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his pride and joy, his son, Gabriel Ernest Levingston of Lake Charles; mother, Rebecca “Becky” Butts Sanders and husband Thomas of Arlington, TX; brother, Paul David Levingston and wife Sherrie; maternal grandmother, Cleada Butts of Kennesaw, GA; dear friend, Leslie Hammond and husband Brian of Lake Charles; niece, Rebecca Levingston of Sulphur; many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, David Lewis Levingston; brother, Kenneth Lee Levingston; paternal grandparents, Ernest and Kathleen Levingston and maternal grandfather, Mitchell Butts.

 

Visitation Monday, December 18, 2017 will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Kelly Vigo will officiate. Private Funeral services will follow. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Gathering Church of Sulphur “Freedom Friday”, 1551 East Napoleon Street, Sulphur, LA 70663.
