Salvador Samuel "Sam" Lombardo Jr.

Salvador Samuel “Sam” Lombardo, Jr., born on January 1, 1949, in New Orleans, passed away peacefully at his home on August 11, 2025, at the age of seventy-six.

A proud graduate of the University of New Orleans, Sam pursued his talent as a self-employed glassblower. A devoted student of God’s word, he was a longtime attendee of Kinder Bible Church. In later years, when health challenges kept him home, he remained faithful by watching Sugarland Bible Church online.

Sam was known for his love of singing, fishing, joking with friends and family, enjoying his cigars, and three ounces of whiskey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Bonnie Lombardo, Sr., wife, Jerry French Lombardo, his beloved grandson, Zachery Smith, and in-laws, Earl and Violet Coble.

Sam is survived by his loving wife of twenty-six years and seventy-four days, Kathie Lombardo; his children, Ian Lombardo (Julee), Alexis Lombardo (Scott), Kristy Smith, and Joedi Richard; his siblings, Carol Crosby, Michael Lombardo (Ramona), and Theresa Hess (Tim); and grandchildren, Michael and Kimberlee Smith.

Cremation is under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11a.m. at the Kinder Bible Church. Pastor Don Barrett, celebrant. Friends are invited to gather at the church beginning at 9 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kinder Bible Church Building Fund or the Sugarland Bible Church Building Fund.
