Sandra Lee Scalisi

May 25, 1965 — January 10, 2026

Lake Charles, Louisiana

Sandra Lee Scalisi, 60, passed away in her Lake Charles, Louisiana home in the early hours of Sunday, January 11, 2026. She was born on May 25, 1965, in McAllen, Texas, to Ted and Billie Jean Branham.

Sandra was raised in El Paso, Texas, where she graduated from Eastwood High School. She devoted her life to her family as a loving homemaker, finding joy in the simple, meaningful things, quiet moments spent reading, crafting with care, and creating a warm, welcoming home for those she loved.

It was in El Paso that Sandra met the love of her life, Jerome, through a mutual friend while he was stationed at Fort Bliss. What began as an unexpected Friday night out, one Jerome almost skipped, turned into a chance meeting that would forever change both of their lives. The two found an immediate connection at a local country music bar. Just six months later, they were married, beginning a life together rooted in love, commitment, and family.

Sandra’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, a proud mother, and a steady presence whose kindness and quiet strength were felt by all who knew her. Her faith and love shaped her home and will remain part of her enduring legacy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Jerome John Scalisi, III; her daughter, Samantha Morgan Doucet; her sons, Jerome John Scalisi IV, and Joseph Bailey Scalisi; and her brothers, Steve Branham, James Branham, and Robert Branham. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, with Deacon Harold Nixon presiding. Burial will follow in Duhon Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake Street, on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until leaving in procession to the church.

Sandra will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life. May she now rest in God’s eternal peace, reunited with those who have gone before her and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.
